영어 packing 단위 알아보기- BOX / BOTTLE

단위 표현 두번째는 묶음이나 포장 단위를 알아 보려고 합니다. 생각보다 생소한 부분이 많아요. 잘 안 써봐서 그런 것 같습니다. 도움의 손길로 예문을 뽑아 봤습니다. 참고로 보시면서 활용하시면 좋을 것 같습니다.

 

 

1. Quart – 쿼트 (액체용량 단위, 1쿼트 = 1리터)

• I need one quart of milk for this recipe.
• She bought two quarts of orange juice yesterday.
• How many quarts of water do you drink each day?

2. Cup – 컵 (용량 단위, 1컵 = 약 240ml)

• Please pour one cup of flour into the bowl.
• He drinks two cups of coffee every morning.
• A cup of tea would be perfect right now.

3. Box – 상자

• The box contains 100 apples.
• I found a box of old books in the attic.
• She packed the toys in a cardboard box.

4. Glass – 유리컵 (용량 단위, 1컵에 가까운 양)

• She filled the glass with water.
• I’ll have a glass of juice, please.
• He drank three glasses of water after his workout.

5. Dozen – 12개

• A dozen eggs costs about $3.
• I bought a dozen roses for her birthday.
• There are three dozen cookies in the jar.

6. Roll – 롤 (주로 음식 단위로, 빵 등)

• He ate two rolls with his soup.
• She baked a roll of cinnamon bread this morning.
• We bought a dozen rolls from the bakery.

7. Bar – 바 (막대, 보통 초콜릿, 비누, 금속 등)

• I’ll have a bar of chocolate after lunch.
• He handed me a bar of soap.
• The chocolate bar is 100 grams.

8. Jar – 병, 항아리

• She opened a jar of jam for breakfast.
• I keep the cookies in a glass jar on the counter.
• They sold jars of honey at the farmer’s market.

9. Can – 캔 (음료, 통조림 단위)

• I’ll grab a can of soda from the fridge.
• He drank a can of beer at the party.
• There are six cans of tuna in the cupboard.

10. Pint – 파인트 (용량 단위, 1파인트 = 약 473ml)

• She ordered a pint of ice cream.
• I need one pint of heavy cream for the sauce.
• A pint of beer costs $5 at the bar.

11. Container – 용기

• Store the soup in an airtight container.
• I filled the container with fruits.
• This container can hold up to 5 liters.

12. Tablespoon – 테이블스푼 (용량 단위, 1 테이블스푼 = 약 15ml)

• Add two tablespoons of sugar to the mix.
• She used a tablespoon of olive oil in the recipe.
• He stirred the soup with a tablespoon of salt.

13. Carton – 종이상자, 카톤 (주로 음료나 음식 포장)

• I bought a carton of milk at the store.
• There are twelve cartons of juice in the fridge.
• He unpacked a carton of cereal this morning.

14. Head – (보통 채소, 특히 양배추 등에서) 한 덩어리

• I need a head of lettuce for the salad.
• She bought a head of cabbage at the market.
• The recipe calls for one head of garlic.

15. Loaf – 한 덩어리 (보통 빵)

• I just baked a loaf of bread.
• She bought a loaf of whole wheat bread from the bakery.
• We need to get a loaf of rye bread for the sandwiches.

16. Bottle – 병 (액체 단위, 주로 음료수)

• She drank a bottle of water during the workout.
• I bought a bottle of wine for the dinner party.
• He has a bottle of olive oil on his kitchen shelf.

17. Pack – 팩, 묶음

• I bought a pack of gum at the store.
• There are six packs of bottled water in the car.
• He packed a small pack of snacks for the trip.

18. Piece – 조각

• Can I have a piece of cake?
• She gave me a piece of advice.
• There is only one piece of bread left.

이렇게 정리를 해 보았습니다. 어렵다기 보다는 익숙하지 않은 단어들이 많은 것 같아요. 저도 활용하면 좋겠지만 

잘 사용하는 단어들이 아니여서요. 그래도 알고는 있어야하는 단위 표시들이여서요. 공부해야겠네요.
